This presentation includes the fundamentals of optimal DLT for Sensors and the comparison with Blockchain when used in Smart Cities applications.
The trilemma and scalability issue can be solved as well as no need for Miners, portability to firmware embedded consensus will be detailed as main benefits of IOTA for Smart Cities applications.
The critical parameters of encoding, the vulnerability to Quantum computing will be analyzed.
Internal structure of nodes and examples of applications to smart cities including Digital Twin solutions for cities, airports, train stations and others.

About the Speaker
Gustavo Giannattasio ( Senior Member IEEE) received Engineering Degree from UDELAR University Uruguay, Electronic Design Engineering Post degree at Philips Institute Holland, and MBA from Catholic University Uruguay. He was a member of the IEEE Smart Cities Steering Committee for four years 2015-2018, IEEE Region Latinamerica Director 2011-2012. Currently member of the IEEE TEMS Board, consultant for Smart Cities projects for Municipalities specialized in Smart Cities Platforms, keynote speaker in IEEE TEMS; ISACA, ITU, Blockchain Summit 2019-2020, Editorial member of the IEEE Standard P2784, and Invited expert in ITU U4SSC Smart Cities WG3 working group.
