In Memoriam of Artur Ziviani

IEEE Smart Cities Community is very sad to inform you that our team member Dr. Artur Ziviani passed away of Covid-19 complications last week. Here are some wonderful pictures.

Artur was a true academic leader dedicated to making this world a better place. He was one of the representatives of the IEEE Communications Society in the Steering Committee of IEEE Smart Cities, and acted as a Publications Co-Chair of the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC2) 2020. He would have been also involved in organizing the IEEE ISC2 2021 edition, and his contributions will be missed.

Everyone who had the chance to meet Artur quickly realized that he was a very kind, very positive, always smiling person and a bright researcher. Artur also became a great friend for those who had the luck to get closer to him. He will be deeply missed.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife and two children, and to all his students and friends who admire and will carry on his legacy.
